ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Ian! I am a designer, artist, builder, musician, explorer, and thrill seeker. I work as a Technical Director for On Track Themes, Inc. in Los Angeles, California, designing roller coasters, dark rides, theater shows, museum exhibits, and all sorts of other entertainment experiences for clients around the world.

SKILLS

RIDE DESIGN & SIMULATION

Utilization of NoLimits 2 Roller Coaster Simulation, Google SketchUp, and Blender to develop ride concepts for preliminary engineering validation with ride manufacturers, including centerline design and scenic show set concepts.

AUTOCAD DRAFTING

Frequent use of AutoCAD for developing 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models, as well as managing drawing package sheet sets and interfacing with external vendor Xref files.

PROTOTYPING & FABRICATION

Experience in CNC programming and operation, 3D printing, laser cutting, and physical manufacturing methods for prototype development and proof-of-concept models.

IMAGE & VIDEO PROCESSING

Advanced use of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premier Pro for content development, including photo and video editing and vector graphics creation.

SHOW SYSTEMS DESIGN

Experience developing preliminary show systems designs, including audio, video display and projection, show action and automation equipment, interactive exhibits, and content playback systems.

AUDIO PRODUCTION & EDITING

Proficient in audio editing, sound design, and music production using various digital audio workstations including Ableton Live, Studio One, and FL Studio.
